There are seasons when you pray, you work, you believe, and still nothing seems to move. The job doesn’t come. The relationship doesn’t heal. The door stays closed. In those moments, it’s easy to wonder whether God has forgotten you.
He hasn’t. Scripture reminds us that “He has made everything beautiful in its time” (Ecclesiastes 3:11). The problem is rarely God’s timing. It’s our view of it.
1. Remember that waiting is not wasting God often does His deepest work in the waiting. Joseph spent years in a pit and a prison before he stood in a palace. Those years weren’t lost; they were preparing him to carry what was coming. Your waiting season may be building the character your next season requires.
2. Separate His silence from His absence Just because you can’t see Him moving doesn’t mean He’s not working. “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). Stillness isn’t passivity. It’s choosing to trust instead of panic.
3. Stay faithful in the small things While you wait, keep showing up. Keep praying, keep serving, keep growing. Faithfulness in the in-between is what positions you for what’s ahead.
4. Guard your heart against comparison Watching others receive what you’re still praying for can steal your peace. Their timeline is not your timeline. God is writing your story with intention.
5. Look back to move forward Make a list of the times God came through before. When today doesn’t make sense, yesterday’s faithfulness becomes proof that tomorrow is in good hands.
Final thought Trusting God’s timing doesn’t mean you’ll always understand it. It means you believe He is good even when you don’t. “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength” (Isaiah 40:31). Keep hoping. Your season is coming.
